VTU & Toaster Expo
14 messages in this thread
Just got the latest issue of Video Toaster User. It just keep getting better
and better. Great info on The Flyer, Reviews and Tutorials. The Toaster Expo on
Dec. 14, 15 in Hollywood is looking to be the best show of the year. Congrads
to VTU on both!

One of my co-workers got his copy last wednesday, while I'm still waiting.

Pat,
I'd sure like to know how yur co-worker got his copy of VTU last Wednesday.
They weren't even off the press until Thursday! Subscriber copies were mailed
on Friday.

Okay, maybe I'm confused…. It was VTU, and the cover was predominetly
white, but I only saw it from across the desk.
Maybe he has a time capsule?

Tom,
Thanks for the kind words. I was disappointed in the Flyer article. It was
supposed to continue in the back of the magazine. Notice how it kind of ends
abruptly? There wasn't too much cut off, except my acknowledgment of James
Hebert and Peter Tjeerdsma for their contributions to the piece. Actually, they
wrote more of that article than I did! They deserve most of the credit.
The VT Expo is really coming together. Ann just finished the floor plan. Have
you seen it? I'm pretty psyched about this event. There will be many cool
things to see (like Alpha Paint!)
Jim
when & where is the expo?
Brian,
The Video Toaster Expo '94 will be held December 14th & 15th at the Universal
City Hilton & Towers. See our ad in the October issue of VTU for details or
call our main office at 1-800-322-2843

Jim,
The latest issue of VTU I have is from August, and I sent a FAX asking for info
on the expo. I just read the thread and I just found out it's in Dec 15. Too
bad… My wife is expecting and we have been told it's gonna happen on the week
of Dec 20-27, maybe earlier. Looks like I ain't going to this one 🙁
Would you have someone fax me the info anyway? I may send three of my
animators to it, since I can't go. The number is (011525) 286-3382 in Mexico
City. Thanks for the help.
P.S. I have a subscription to VTU that I got while I was still living in the
US, in Dallas. Is there any way of changing it so that I can have it delivered
to Mexico City instead? It's a bitch getting it here off the shelves. Thanks
again.
Nooooooo: I hate The Hill unless I'm going to City Walk for a movie. Hey
dose this mean we can get a tour of Amblin since it will be so close…
I thought you were having it in Pasadena what changed.

Brad,
John Gross said he'd be happy to take 1 or 5 large groups on a tour to
Amblin…as him, you'll see… 🙂
I don't know where you heard Pasadena. I don't think Pasadena was ever on our
list. Maybe you're thinking of World of Commodore?
Hawaii is going to be a blast!

Jim:
I thought Ken Wilder (LATUG/Marmalade) had mentioned it, but I could be
wrong.
I will ask John I can practicly see the Universal lot from my balcony.
I had never thought about bringing it up before, that was kind'a a joke,
But I would love to.
hey, as long as I have your ear (or eyesas the case may be) I havev't
recived my VTU yet, I thought you had said they went out last friday. I
usuly get them at the latest by the 7th. Should I head the the local news
stand yet…?

Brad,
We just got our U.S. mail office copy today in Sunnyvale. You might want to
give it another day.
Jim
Never Mind, it was hiding under a bush on my front porch. New Mail-Man I
guess….

Jim,
Hopefully, if you do this next year it will be earlier, like in Oct/Nov.
I was planning on goint until I heard the dates. Unfortunatly, I will be
