<< but they still have a opaque looks any ideas? >> If you are using R3, what is your New-Subtractive-Transparency set to in your 3ds.set? (On or Off) It's set to ON. -=Mike=-

Is there a change for the better when you set this to off?

>>Is there a change for the better when you set this to off?<< I finally got it. Evidently when I assigned a transulcent mat. to the squashed sphere and saved it as an .asc I had forgot to save the library with the bubble mat., so when it couldn't find the mat. it assigned the default mat. But I still had to reassign the bubble mat to the box before it worked, it sure looks good though. Do you think I should change my translucent setting back to on? I don't use r2 files much. Thanks, -=MIKE=-

<< Do you think I should change my translucent setting back to on? >> It a personal decision. You should test the different possible parameters that are available to you via the 3ds.set file for learning comparision and then use which ever parameter is appropriate at any given time during the your animation design & review process. One example is the hint found in the installation guide under the heading "Shaper/Lofter data structures..". (ie. freeing up to 4 meg of available RAM based on your needs.. )
