#Sony CD-Rom Drive probs

Hi all,
I just finished swapping an older CD-rom drive for a less older one, my problem
is that 3DS wont see it even tho everything with the drive seems to be working
properly. I can even exit thru dos window and access the drive as normal thru
dos prompt just cant do it thru 3ds menu.
any help on this would be great.

I remember someone having a similar problem a few months back. I think the
solution/work around was accessing the drive once before going into 3DS. This
may ring a bell with someone who could elaborate.

Yes after futher testing I have discovered that if instead of shelling to dos
if I just "quit" 3ds prior to accessing the drive and re-start 3ds I will get
access to the drive within 3ds.

P.S.- the drive in question is a Sony CDU-33A
Sergio,
I suggest that you log the CD-ROM drive prior to starting up 3D Studio.
My batch file includes a DIR > NUL. Once logged, 3D Studio will then have a
drive button for my CD.

I had a similar problem with my Sony until I loaded the latest Mscdex.exe file
I could find. Fixed lots of CD Rom problems I was having.
