#? about 1084S monitor

I presantly own an AMIGA 3000 with a 2.0 toaster card and 3.1 software.
The monitor I'm using is a 1084S commodore.. What is the advantage and prices
if you have them of getting a , I believe I was told a 19… something monitor
that aldso outputs SVGA and all that good stuff. I need some general specs on
other monitors and the advantages with this system.

The monitor you speak of is CEI's 1962, a private labelling from Electrohome of
Canada. Except for A3000 owners, any multi-sync you wish to use in a
Toaster-equipped Amiga will need to sync down to the NTSC horizontal line rate
of 15 kHz. (There is a list of compatible monitors in the PreVue library,
section 5 of this forum.) The CEI 1962 and the CD Solutions multi-sync
monitors seem to be the most popular right now; the November issue of Amiga
World has a review of them. The review should have mentioned, though, that an
adapter such as the Sync Strainer is necessary for both the A2000's and
A4000's.
Now, for you lucky A3000 owners, the A3000 has a scan doubler/de-interlacer
built right in. This relieves you from having to find a monitor that meets the
15 kHz restriction. You WILL need to rustle up a 23-pin video port termination
in order to keep RGB levels to the Toaster happy. Otherwise, Toaster CG rolls
and crawls will be much too hot.
