Version 1.0.3 is already released and supports R4.
PS: A copy of Liquid Speed (no hardware lock included) will be shipped
with all Release 4's, so once you get a production release, you
should have the update.

Chuck,

Are you saying LS is no longer being sold as an add-on but comes with r4
including upgrades to r4? Also I too would like to see a quick-change
resolution driver for 3DS.

Mark
PMFJI but it looks like I opened up a can of worms here (resolution
switching display driver). Thanx for the support.

So you were the one who started this idea eh? EXCELLENT IDEA!

No Mark, I believe Chuck is saying that if you have a LS dongle then you will
have the r4 update as soon as you install 3DSr4, as the LS file will be on the
install disks. For non-LS users, there will just be a useless file sitting
there in the 3DS4 dir.
Dave
OK thanks, Dave

Useless file? Not so. If you install the copy of the Liquid Speed
taht ships with R4 using INSTALL -DEMO, and adding a line to your
3DS.SET, you have access to a demo benchmark that will show you just
how much faster your system will run with Liquid Speed. You pick the
mesh.

It is still an add-on. A disk is being shipped with R4 which contains an
update for users of Liquid Speed and a demo for others. We are continuing to
sell the product retail.

OK, Chuck, thanks. Just to clarify for those folks *thinking* that Liquid
Speed is included in R4. My take: Uh Uh. The hardware lock is STILL
required, but you are using Autodesk to help distribute the R4-compatible
software update, as a convenience to LS users, and as a side benefit of
Autodesk's licensing of other Vibrant technology. Correct?

<< Correct? >>
We'll know for sure, soon enough, but I think it also includes a visual
benchmarking program..fwiw..

The benchmarking demo will be a great way to measure 3D Studio Artist
testosterone levels. We won't be worried about number of faces, vertices, or
objects. Only how many seconds it takes to redraw a mesh based on the
benchmark. <G>

This is correct. Because of some bugs with R4, it is most convient for users
to get an updated LS with the release. As a side benefit, we made a demo
version for those without LS locks.
