While expeimenting with drag and drop, I found out that if I depress the shift
key while dragging, once I get the "little guy or gal, whichever it may be"
into my wordprocessing window, if I release the mouse button, BEFORE releasing
the shift key, it works splendidly.
Also, I cannot access the "Edit Residence" box in a new page as it is screened
back and unavailable for use until some dialogue is entered.
I feel like Andy Rooney here. And another thing… When I select a format for
how a name shows up in my address book it shows up without a comma separating
the last and first name (Gold Allan when it should read Gold, Allan). I can go
back (and have been) editing it, but it's a pain in the butt.
Uh, just one more thing… (Columbo). When I create custom fields, where do
they show up on screen. Are they added to the "view" box or are they just
accessable in the custom fields dialog box.

The "Edit Residence" choice will be blocked out until you enter at least a name
or phone number on the Address Book page.
The comma issue has been suggested several times, and I'll pass it along once
more for good measure. It's a popular request, so it will probably show up at
some point.
The custom fields are only accessible by selecting "Edit/Custom Fields."

Winfax Pro reads the DTS phonebook without stripping off the area code. It will
strip it off from one of it's own phonebooks, but not from a read-only,
external phonebook.
It appears as thought the main purpose for including the area code in the phone
field is to assist those on the road, as it will be stripped from DTS's dialer
when they change their local area code. Is there any other legitimate,
long-term reason for someone who works in the same city to enter the area code
in the phone field?
Also, why not one (1) separate field, as all the phone numbers will normally
have the same area code?

The problem with the WFP interface and area codes will be solved in the 4.1b
update. It has to do with the fact that they store the area code and the local
number in separate fields and we store them in one field.
The primary reasons for entering the area code and number together are that if
you ever move to another area code or the telephone company divides your local
area code into multiple area codes (which they seem to be doing quite a lot
lately), you will still be able to dial these people.
One thing you might try to save yourself the time of entering the same area
code over and over if most of the people you enter are in the same area code,
is to create a default record that has the area code typed in every phone
number field. Select Edit/Record options… and select Current Record under
Default. Then, all new entries that you make will have the area code already
entered.
It would really be too limiting to have one area code for all eight phone
numbers because there really are people out there who have phone numbers in
different area codes. For example, many people who live in Northern New Jersy
work in New York City, NY – different area codes. Also many people in southern
NJ work in Philadelphia, PA. I believe the Los Angeles area has about 6 zip
codes – that would be another example of where this situation might occur.

An interesting feature! I experimented with it and found a possible bug. The
Office phone number doesn't seem to carry from the default record to the new
one. When I go back to check on the default record it's missing the area code
in Office. When I try to re-enter the area code, after pressing OK I get the
following message: Error No: 1003, This key is non-modifiable
c:\data\desktop\white.btr.
I'm not planning to use this feature, so don't make this a priority.
