I was wondering if anyone could send me one of those "New Features" lists about
3DS R2.I also was wondering how much it costs.
Thanks,

Title: 3DSr4 features list and note from Siggraph
Keys: AUTODESK 3D STUDIO RELEASE 4 FEATURES
Here it is, folks. A report uploaded from the Autodesk press reception/party
at the Sony Monster Sound ride
at Epcot. We're getting smashed, but this list should include most of the new
features in 3D Studio Release
4.

I know that, I've already downloaded the 3DS R3 and R4 files.I just don't have
the moola(money) to buy them.I was hoping that R2 would be a little less
expensive.I have no idea how much R2 costs though. And I don't know what
features it has either. That's why I asked if someone could tell me where a file
is on 3DS R2.Also I wish they could tell me how much it costs.

I would agree 3DS is an investment. The R2, R3, R4 are releases
of the serial improments of the software over time. The question
might be if Autodesk allows software transfer and if they will give
you an idea how to best find owners of prior release. I would think
it would be good for all.
I learned about Autodesk in 1987 and watched AutoCad grow in
price. When I saw Animator for $200 direct from Autodesk, I knew it
also would grow in value (value and price are realted but not equal,
:). 3DS is a product that has yet to reach the peak of its value in
my opinion. I base this on the increasing CPU power capability of the
individual (vs. the corporation) . . . I think in many ways it is
time/turn around that requires higher CPU &/or RAM power. Files size
and how to get final output are another set of issues.
Bottom line, 3DS is a pro-tool and people can make their living
using this program. …. I expect we should await the R! of the
Autodesk Virtual Reality Program, … really
