Is it possible to enable vertex snap when 3DS starts up ?
What about the other snaps?
Is it possible to change the order of vertices manually?

Yes. setup the 3d Studio interface the way you want it to come up on
startup (in any or every module). Then save this state by saving a
project called 3d.prj in your default directory (c:\3ds3 for
example). These settings will now pop-up every time you start up 3ds.
>> Is it possible to change the order of vertices manually? << no.
the only way I think you could do this is to edit the .asc file of
some geometry, but you'd probably just end up with a "birds-nest"
mess unless you really knew what you were doing.

Martin,
Shouldn't it be 3ds.prj.
Then again, I might be wrong.

Martin;
PMJI, but i tried your little trick of creating the setting in 3DS
how you want them then saving it out as 3D.PRJ, I also tried 3DS.PRJ,
and neither way worked for me. To bad, 'cause it sound useful.

I missed Martin's post, but if you have a "3ds.prj" in your \projects
subdirectory, 3ds loads it when initializing or resetting the system. BUT, if
you then manually load ANOTHER prj file, the settings in THAT prj file will
wipe out the settings made by your 3ds.prj file.
The only thing 'magic' about 3ds.prj is that gets loaded automatically.
Carl;
Thanks, I tried it, and it worked (putting 3DS.PRJ in projects sub dir). I
thought I tried this earlier without success, but it worked this time.
