Supposedly, there is a "3D Studio 3.1" version dated 6/4/94 instead of 12/8/93 out (?). Is there anything we people are missing, and if so, is there an update available (I was told it's mostly only examples, and the program hasn't changed, basically). Anything else that's different between the two?

Mike, Latest version of 3D Studio is 3.01a, with 4.0 on its way in a week. The date on the executable is the install date on your system (when the install program copies and constructs the file over to the hard disk) – thus, not so significant. Kevin Krell – Computer Support Associates

OK – I see. How can I tell, then? Mine's 2106216 bytes (3DS.EXE, that is)… Is there a patch upgrade here somewhere I missed? (I've probably got the 3.00 version since I purchased it soon after it was available, but how can I tell?)

There is no such a thing as a 3DS.EXE 3.1. You got the only one that exists. The 3.x stuff are just support files.

OK – just more samples and things, then, I suppose? Could you post the updated files here, perhaps?

I think the support files Gus mentioned are already in lib 3 here, as 3DSUPD.ZIP. They include some minor things, including a missing map for my space shuttle mesh from the CD. (If you by any chance are specifically interested in space shuttles <g>, SHTLFX.ZIP might also help.)

He did… Or rather John did (first) – I've got it!
