Hi, all… Some Dumb Questions: 1) Can 3DS r3 do REFRACTION (i.e., light bending through water, glass, etc…) 2) Suggestions for modeling a (human) head (just general philosophies, procedures for moving vertices smoothly, time saving tips,…) Thanks, -Scott Sorkin

Scott, There's a great technique for doing refraction in the new book 3DS Special Effects. I just picked up a copy and it's got some other great techniques as well. MartinF's are especially cool. Check it out. I got a copy at Software ETC. Dave

David, Thanks for the tip. I Just ordered it through McMillan(?) Publishing in Indianapolis… Shoot! I should have checked the local retailers first, but it sounded like no one could locate a copy. Oh, well. I'll just sit on my hands for the next two weeks till it arrives! -Scott

PMFJI,>>>I should have checked the local retailers first, but it sounded like no one could locate a copy. Oh, well. I'll just sit on my hands for the next two weeks till it arrives!<<< I picked up a copy on Saturday at a local bookstore. I had ordered it a couple of weeks ago and called several times since then and they had not received it. I showed up on Saturday and they had two copies on the shelf, but they still haven't called as of today.
