It's simple really, how do I rotate the two middle slices of a four slice hierarchy without affecting the two slices on either side?

Hi Andrew, << It's simple really, how do I rotate the two middle slices of a four slice hierarchy without affecting the two slices on either side? >> Pretty simple using skin.. Don't link the slices and use "Use Prefix" instead of "Use Hierarchy" in Skin. This way you can rotate/move/scale your slices without affecting the other slices.. jonas[adesk]

Ah! thank you! (my font just changed! How did that happen?) You see, I thought that skin skinned the sliced object in the order of their linkage and so I didn't even try that, but it does work, so thanks. Andy

In addition to Jonas' solution, you could use a hierarchy, but use Link Info to release the rotational link between the appropriate slices. – Jack

>> It's simple really, how do I rotate the two middle slices of >> a four slice hierarchy without affecting the two slices on >> either side? You should probably check out Hierarchy/Link_Info command on page 8-44. This will let you unlink the rotation from the hierarchy. Terry Gilbert Forcade & Associates
