I am sure that QMS laser printer are not bad, but what did they cost ?
OK, photocopying is definitely the cheapest way from 100 up to 1000 pages.
Above, "normal" printing in a printing office is the cheapest way.
How many "single" pages do you print in one year ?

None! I don't have a printer! HA! But at the office… working as the
editor of a computer magazine here in Canada, I had to review a number of
printers, meet with the reps and support all the users in the office! Our
main printer was a QMS.
They're not the most expensive nor the cheapest. But I consider them to be
good value. For what you pay, you get excellent quality, excellent
throughput and they'll stand up to a heavy duty cycle.
At my current job, I'm using a GCC and probably print >5000 pages/year.
I'd get them faster if I had a QMS!

I am working since yesterday with a new photocopying machine.

I am not really happy with this machine, because it produces a lot of
heat. I copied in 2.5 hours about 1200 DINA 4 pages. It is not bad from
the technical side, but I was forced to open the door and the windows
because of the heat.
15 ppm engine(DINA 4), 9 ppm with DINA3!, ZOOM 50%-200%
I will copy this day probably 1000 pages.
There is the possibility that I have to print/copy 20000+ pages (in one
week) in one or two months. For this job I would like to get a fast laser
printer too. I will see, if have to do this job.

We have a QMS-860 on a ethernet system and…well, I just don't like it..slow
to process..I guess it could be the net but I haven't had much problems with
the other printers..
