You won't be able to use AMAX IV's SCSI manager support with any device that accesses the SCSI at low level (which is most all CD-ROM drives, ALL SCSI scanners, SCSI printers, SCSI film recorders, etc.) This is why I put a real MAC SCSI interface on the EMPLANT hardware.

Yes I can use my scanner with Emplant but I can't use the CD-ROM. Sometimes I can see the CD-ROM on the desktop but when I try to open it or launch a software which resides on the CD-ROM the emultation or the computer crashs ! Excepted one time where I can obtain the first menu ( but it was 11 pm and I stopped to sleep 🙁 ) ( I have the Deluxe Emplant of course and all is connected to Emplant SCSI ) I'll try soon again …

What CD-ROM driver and CD-ROM drive are you using? If the scanner works, that verifies the SCSI interface itself is working. I would say the driver software is the culprit… or termination.

On my last try the HD was not working too 🙁 I use the last driver for CD from Apple. When I tried to use the CD-ROM the computer crashs but not always during the same operation. About termination I tried 4 terminators : one from Apple, one was an active terminator. The two others came with devices !
