"what I really want is something with a chord keyboard…"
Dale,
What is a CHORD keyboard? Do you need to have perfect pitch to use it?
What if your voice is froggy that day you need to transcribe those
long blocks of text? Do you get jumbled copy? Suppose you can't
carry a tune or have a tin ear, will it still work?
Or are you talking about connecting a MIDI keyboard and each Chord played
equals certain text strings? Are there that many different chords that you can
have a complete grammatically correct language?
😉

Much more like the later than the former. Imagine holding a big
joystick with a button under each finger. Or even stick one in each
hand. Different combintations of keys result in different
characters. Highly ergonomic, easily used in places you wouldn't
usually think of as good candidates for a keyboard (like on a
steering wheel, perhaps).
