An article in the last issue of CGW credits some scenes in Johnny Pneumonic as being done in Alias by Gene Bodio, but I think almost all the rest of it was done in 3DS. I didn't work _at_ Apogee, rather on a distant location soundstage. It was a pretty mediocre film, and Dykstra's effects got cut completely by the distributor who bought the whole shebang. Apparently they thought it wasn't flashy enough. The ending they came up with really sucked big time. The Apogee stuff was superior, IMHO. Right now I'm working with 3D Studio and some other packages/platforms. Future developments seem to be a combination platter of games, TV commercials, and movies. John Tissavary | LUNA cie, inc

<sp. fx got cut> Well, that's the way it goes…I don't know that much about Jonny Neumonic, just the rumors. Sounds like a smorgasbord, rather than a platter of jobs. w keypad driven real-time flyer. It runs inside AutoCAD now. Has any work been done anywhere that you know of getting a CDK app to run inside of 3DStudio? Any ideas on the subject? Thanks, Ang

Are you being funny? It's Johnny Mneumonic, as in "aid to memory," not "pneumonic," as in "plague." (As opposed to bubonic, the flea-borne plague.) Until they've closed the cutting room, we won't know exactly how many minutes are devoted to Alias, 3DS or any other 3D packages that might've been used in the movie.

I did that on purpose just to give the impression that I'm fallible. 🙂
