Puppeteer?

Has anyone else out there been using (trying to use) this particular product.
Those of us who JUST COULDN'T wait for inverse kinematics and bought this, er,
"product" would like to know if they are going nuts of what.
*** going nuts or what. ***
Yeah, I was burning brain cells for a while trying to learn Puppeteer! Finally
able to import a mesh and apply one of the provide Motion Data Files, but it
is a tedious process. There are still some bugs/quirks in Puppeteer that I
hope Schreiber is working to correct. Havent heard from Chris Thomas in awhile
so I assume he is buried in Chipettos' wood Pile!

I have given up on Puppeteer long ago. I bought the program in September and
still haven't been able to figure it out. It is quite frustrating as I wanted
to use it on a project I was working on. So far, I kind of feel I wasted my
money. I hope it eventualy gets really good (considering its motion capture
capabilities). We should get the updates for free.
Looks like we will have to wait for R4 to be able to play around with IK.

The motion capture stuff seems cool, IF you have access to the input hardware.
The motion capture input stuff seems like an industry that is trying to create
itself using the money from potential users.
I just downloaded ver 1.06 of puppeteer and it still doesn't do what they said
it was suppose to do. I even sent them a file I was using to test the software
and their response amounted to "gee, it's never done that before!"
I'm TIRED of PAYING to be a BETA TESTER!
Heck with it, I'll do what I should have done in the first place, wait for R4!
When you develop software, especially something as complex as Puppeteer, you
will always get projects and data files from customers that push your product
in directions you did not predict.
We appreciate your persistence with Puppeteer, and hope that you will be
patient enough to see it developed into a winning product.

Let me assure you that since Puppeteer was introduced at Siggraph there has
been a tremendous effort made to add features and correct deficiencies. The
program has gone through several updates already, and they have all been
provided free. Puppeteer is one of the most ambitious IPAS plug-ins developed
to date, and it explores the inner architecture of 3DStudio more than almost
any other product on the market.
Please be patient and watch it grow. If you are not already aware of the

are loaded on the BBS. Call Schreiber's 1-800- number for the password to
download the 1.06 update.
