#ADI drivers

I have a system that is using the Diamond Viper VLB display board. I want 3D
studio to render to the display. I set the RDPADI environment variable to the
driver RCVESA.EXP (spelling?). Everything works until the rendering is finished
and 3DS is trying to get back to the modeling view. Without input, the rendered
image on the diaplay becomes corrupt and the bottom of the screen is filled
with garbage (I can see a point moving in there if I move the mouse). I spoke
with my dealer who told me to get the new ADI drivers from Compuserve but I
can't find the right ones for 3DS release 2. Could you tell me where there are?

Do you know the filename and which vendor forum? I don't know of any new ADI
drivers in this forum for R2..

This is why I have posted the message. I am trying to find new ADI drivers and
am hoping that someone has had the same problems as I or one of the AutoDesk
engineers can help me with some information. Would you be such a person?

BTW – We have an ADI driver that supports tons of cards, including the Diamond
Viper VLB, which works with 3D Studio Release 1/2. Call Vibrant sales at
1-800-937-1711 and tell them that you want an ADI driver for 3D Studio Release
2 and they should be able to give you pricing, etc.

Part of this thread is missing. The problem I am trying to fix is that when
using the ADI driver RCVESA.EXP with 3DS2, a problem occurs when rendering to
display. Everything works fine until the rendering is done and its time to
return to the modeling window. The image becomes corrupted and garbage gets
written to the bottom of the screen. My dealer told me that he didn't think
that the ADI drivers that shipped with r2 supported the current VESA standards.
Its my opinion that AutoDesk should make an update on its RCVESA.EXP driver for
r2 users…but I can't find it. -guy

I'm sorry guy, autodesk has been trying to make 3ds even better with release 3
and now release 4.
you should check out the following files. Also, you may wish to call vibrant
for their adi drivers.

Autodesk doesn't have any R2 ADI drivers to sell you. Your best bet is with the
vibrant drivers.

Note that the Vibrant drivers for r2 support lots of cards with direct chipset
support, not just VESA, and is slightly faster in display modes (has
essentially an early version of Liquid Speed in it).

Chuck, did you see my request for support of the C&T 6554? I might have missed
the reply. It is a very common chip now across notebooks. It is nice to have
true-color rendering on a notebook…if only we can get it supported. Thanks!
