#Gif Viewer Questions

Can someone tell me exactly what ViewTek ( VTEK21.LHA ) does. The file
discription isn't very 8^)…
What I am looking for is a viewer to view gif files that has two
properties.
1. Will convert 256 color (and higher if possible) so that they can be
viewed on my A2000.
2. Will use a virtual autoscroll screen for images extending beyond
"normal" Amiga resolution.
Aive 1.7 does 1 but not 2. I have tried superview, but for some images it
will complain that it can't open a display and for other images the colors
a very screwed up.
Viewtek can do both of those.
AmigaOS 3.1 does both of these (though I'm not 100% sure that the GIF dataty e
is included, you can download it).
Dale,
I have been thinking about bying 3.1 for some time. Datatypes seem to
be one of the key selling points. I guess I should of told Santa 8^)..

Michael — Aive 1.7 will let you scroll using the standard
AmigaDOS convention of holding the left Amiga key while you use the
mouse to scroll. This key can be changed — I think via IPrefs. But
you can also tell Aive to scale the pic to your existing screen. 🙂
