do you have that card? Are you happy with it? I'm supposed to choose between that and the ATI mach64 for my new system at work. Martin, Yes I have the Stealth 64 PCI w/2Mb of VRAM. I like it a lot. It's a very fast card. Works great in both Windows and DOS and so far I've not had any problem with it. I got it up with both Win and 3DS in about 15 minutes. I have never had good luck with ATI cards, they always seem "flaky" to me. Plus, Diamond claims the Stealth is way faster than the ATI card. Gosh, I sound like a salesman. <g> Well, you asked. Really though, I have no experience with the ATI. It might be great. But, the Stealth is a great card no matter what. Did everyone write their own chapters in the FX book? It seems like it. Just wondering. Dave Mennenoh

That's the one I ordered for my Virgin system, only with 4mb vram. >> Did everyone write their own chapters in the FX book? << as apposed to what? I'm not sure I understand. Who would write the chapters other than the credited author at the beginning of each chapter? I know I wrote all the chapters with my name on them. However, my cat, Beatrix Potter, gave me some ideas and hints which I used without acknowledgement, but she said it was OK, honest <G>.

Actually the computer named Elvis was the RenderGarden we previewed at our Aug. 3D Artists Seminar and conference. I had to Drive from Green Bay to Milwaukee (102miles one way) in a rented van on a Saturday before the show to pick up the unit as Matt and Chris weren't flying in until after Fed-X closed up shop. The RenderGarden itself is about a 36x36x36 inch box when it's all packed in it's wooden crate and Fed-X loaded it in the back of the van with a fork truck. All the while we drove back from milwaukee I kept telling my Sue-Z How just the size of this particular wooden crate makes one very curious as to it's contents. Well when we got back to Green Bay and backed in the driveway to unload it as I lifted the box down to the ground I saw in about 1" Blue letters on the top corner of the box, "ELVIS" was written…<rofl>….I couldn't beleive it was hilarious!…. Later when I asked Matt about it he said that one of the programmers had dubbed the project involving this box and his special code was called the "Elvis" project. It's even more funny now that you've told me …"The Rest of the Story"…You see these guys are very good "Unix" Programmers too!<BG> Murph'

Martin, I know you'll be happy with the Stealth card. Wish I could've gotten the 4Mb one though. Forget I asked about the book. It was dumb. <g> I ordered disk #6 and R4 today. Can't wait. I want to be GOD of scripting. <he he> My first project is going to be flocking though. Should be interesting. Dave Mennenoh
