I haven't spoken with you on the phone lately, but I am still having a problem
with the size of the animations I can output from my PAR drive. As you might
recall, I purchased a Microplis 2217a 1.6 gig drive. I've read messages from
Brick Ecksten that say I should be able to get upto 15 minutes of animation off
this drive. I have (2) files on the PAR drive. One is 3143 blocks the other
is 89 blocks. The larger animation runs fine and I am able to output it to
tape. However, the smaller animation breaks up considerably during playback at
full speed (30 fps) but is fine at slow speed (15fps).
This problem has occurred on several occassions and really hasn't been much of
a problem untill now. I think I should be able to get more than 1:40 seconds
of animation of this drive. Since I have already replaced the PAR board once,
I suspect that the drive may be damaged. Any thoughts or comments?

Have you tried optimizing your PAR drive?
There are two things that can be happening. Your drive needs to be optimized
badly, or you have a bad spot on your drive. If you have a media defect (hard
error) on your drive, you can play them back slowly, but not at full speed
because the drive is busy searching the disk for the remapped blocks and at
full speed playback it takes too long to find the remapped blocks. At 15 FPS
there is plenty of time. The fact that the data really is OK, and that the
problems you are seeing only occur dureing the time sensitive 30 fps playback
seems to back this up.

Thanks for your input into my problem. I think I'll be sending the drive back
for a replacement.
I spoke to the developers of Razor Pro today and it sounds like a great
product. I seem to remember a message posted a while back that indicated you
were working with this product. If so, can you tell me something about it?
