Martin,
Thanks for the response. Do you know or could you check with the MAC 2d artist
you are working with on how they ate manipulating your files. Does thier pshop
recognize the tga alpha chanel as transparency? Also I was interested in what
you do. Can you tell me about Animatrix. Sounds like and animation company.
What types of work do you do (etc)?
Thanks again for your help!

Tim, you somehow addressed this to my ID with Martin's name. I'm not sure which
software you ar using to access CIS, but a simple Reply statement should set
you up to answer notes fairly straightforwardly.
I'd suspect Martin will get this OK, though…

PS — Maybe Martin's associates have Pshop 3.0 online up there in Irvine and
can tell us if it supports the Alpha info in a 3DS 32-bit TGA…Martin?
Alan,
thanks for intercepting that mish-mashed message 🙂

yes they are, and I'll have to ask. My guess is "yes".

The present version (2.5.1) fully supports alpha in a 32 bit TGA.

David,
>> The present version (2.5.1) fully supports alpha in a 32 bit TGA. <<
ripping, mate! That's good to know, thanks. I hope the original enquirer will
see this.

Also, with absolutely no difficulty whatsoever, I have read 3DS 32-bit TGA's
into the MACINTOSH Pshop 3.0. Alpha info comes in as "channel #4".

Thanks David!

John,
I almost missed this message because the user ID is wrong. I _try_ to read all
the messages in all the (interesting to me) sections, so I just caught this
one.
>> Does thier pshop recognize the tga alpha chanel as transparency? <<
I think so, but I know so little about photoshop – they have version 3.01 and
it has a lot of knew neat features. I'll ask on Monday. However, Ana Gervas is
our resident Photoshop krazy person, so maybe she can answer with more
certainty.
>> Can you tell me about Animatrix. <<
Sure. I started freelancing with 3d Studio r1 and Animator back in early '91
under that company name. Mainly corporate video and architecture in those days
which shifted to multimedia and games later on. I've just taken a full-time
position at Virgin Interactive Entertainment as lead tea-lady, but Animatrix
lives on …..
