I'd heave 'em your way but your problem is one I haven't come up against.
Now for the good news. We both made it into Progressive Architecture this
month. (I made it twice but who's counting <G>) There's an article on The
Hillier Group and it includes us in the credits for the Howard Hughes Medical
Institute. I also worked like a maniac on American Home Products.
Time to do some lunch, stop in soon.

I came "this close" to visiting you today at THG. I was in Trenton with Frank
Moya and thought that I'd have some time to get up to Princeton and drop in on
you. Things just didn't work out that way today, but I'm hoping to get up
there next week. I'd like to see some of the animations you've been doing. I
saw Linda Lucas at a dinner Friday nite and she said you had some great stuff.
I saw your message the other day about the corrupted PAR drive. I had the same
thing happen to me about a month ago and ended up losing a 4 minute animation.

I saw the PA article today and was really surprised to see my name there. I
don't feel that I did that much on HH and still feel that I owe Peter Hoggen
for some things that I did.
Like I said, maybe next week. I have a strange personal policy that I try not
to make plans more than 24 hours in advance if I can help it. So we'll see how
it goes. It'd be great to see you and chit chat about work, reality and stuff.
I'll call you if I'm going to be nearby.

Lucky you didn't stop by today as I played hookie. I weaseled the day off
after doing three 18 hour days to start the week off. So far I'm gonna be
around all next week although a Belgium trip is a possibility. I wholly
endorse the concept of not making plans more than 24 hours in advance.
When I read your first message today I said to myself, "I gotta ask Ed what he
knows about Razor Pro." Then there you go asking about it in your next
message. I'm really interested in the product and how it compares with
Premiere. Like you I like the fact that DPS has been in on the development
side.

I got some information faxed to me today about Razor Pro. It appears that it
has the ability to do a lot of the cross fades, wipes, etc. between video clips
that I now do in Video Post. It's a Windows program and retails for $795.
There's one catch. To use Razor Pro with the PAR you have to purchase a $100
chip that must be installed on the PAR card by either the Razor Pro people,
DPS, or your dealer. They weren't clear, as of Friday, who you would have to
send your card to for the upgrade. Apparently this chip will allow you to work
on your animations in thumb nail size and preview all of your editing in real
time. It sounds like a good deal to me. I would like to get some third party
information about the product, something like a review or a ringing endorsement
from one of the regulars here on the forum.
Hope you are all rested up for Holloween, and Thursday is looking good as a day
to visit. What do you think?

Thursday looks good right now. I saw an allusion to this chip add-on you
mentioned in a Razor Pro advertisement. I hope I don't have to pay to see a
demo of this product :-{
