#network rendering
3 messages in this thread
I'm having trouble getting network rendering going using LANtastic/AI between
two machines. What happens is that my workstation machine freezes up with a
couple seconds after starting 3DS. Most of the time there is no mouse cursor.
Other times it's there, but after a couple seconds it's igloo city. Yes, I have
read the manual! What could I have missed? Will someone give me a look at their
3dsnet.set files?
Thanks!

Have you tried rendering on each machine as a stand-alone? I mean, plug in the
hardware key into each one, run 3ds, and try to render a scene. Make sure that
3ds runs right and THEN try the net render.
Also, do your Lantastic machines "talk" to each other? Are you able to copy
files from one to the other?
Finally, do your network cards/drivers require any memory address to be
excluded from your memory manager?
Hi David,
Thanks for the reply.

Yep.

I haven't excluded any yet and have been running fine (everything but 3DS)
for quite a while. I'm not running any memory managers on my workstation. I
think my slave is running EMM386. I'd have to check.
Hmmmmm….
