#Texture maps
7 messages in this thread
I'm new to this texture mapping deal. Outside of the maps I make through taking
pictures and scanning them are there any texture collections on CD that are THE
best in quality and flexibility in usage? If so which are they and where can I
get them. As well how much do they cost?
Thanks,
Michael
Michael there are lots of texture maps on cd's. You will probably need to be
more specific about what you would like to obtain.

What are my options. There has to be a company that has a number of disk sets
or something to that nature. For this project I'm working with metal..I'd like
to have a good choice of types as well leather. It's a futurist project. I've
desogned vehicles and characters which will be animated (the characters I'll
deal with later..still need to find affordable models). BTW what's the best
particle generator plugin out there?
Thanks for any help,
Michael
Michael,
I was at Seybold today and there were at least ten companies that I saw selling
dozens of cd's full of imagery of every type imaginable. Since I create all my
own texture maps as needed I don't keep track of each company and what they
have. Going to trade shows is the only way I know to get exposure to the stuff.
Good Luck,
Will
Thanks for your help. Could you give me a few pointers in the creation of your
own maps. Do you use a 35mm camera and then scna them in? Settings on the
camera, lighting… anything would be helpful.
Thanks,
Michael
