Are you running the PAR.EXE DOS app through WIN 95?
Have you had success writing to the PAR with sequencial tgas direct from
applications?

Tim,
I've had no problem running PAR.EXE DOS app through Win '95 but can not write
to the PAR from any Windows '95 applications. I loaded Windows 3.1 in a
seperate directory and run it whenever I need to do this sort of thing from
Windows. I click on the Windows '95 START, use the "restart the computer in DOS
mode" option, then start Win 3.1.
It isn't pretty but it works.

Hi Don,
I`ve had the same problem with the PAR and I tried to reinstall Win3.11 over
Win95 in the old DOS mode, but it doesn`t work. Only a black screen appear when
I start Win3.11.
Help me, I can`t access my PAR.

Thiemo,
The trick is to install Windows 3.11 in a separate directory. For example, if
Win '95 is loaded in your C:\WINDOWS directory, install Win 3.11 in C:\WIN2. I
set mine up to run Win '95 normally, but when I need to use my PAR with a
Windows application, I click on the Win '95 "Start button", click on "Shut
Down", then click "Restart the computer in MS-DOS mode". This basically causes
Win '95 to completely unload itself from memory leaving only DOS behind.
Turning on the computer and pressing the F8 key and pressing option 6 will have
the same effect. You can even start 3D Studio at this point without any
problems. To start Win 3.11, you simply go into your other Windows directory
using the DOS CD (change directory) command and type WIN. Depending on what
software you are using to access the PAR, you may have to reinstall some of it
in Win 3.11 mode so that the .ini files can be found by Windows.
Before doing anything else however, try to see what's causing Windows 3.11 to
not come up. Go into your current Windows directory and type setup, then make
sure the video driver is set to VGA. Also, try using the WIN /? feature. It
will give you a list of switches you can use to help you troubleshoot Windows
3.11 and get it up and running again.
Until DPS comes up with a fix for WIN '95, getting the PAR to work with it is
going to be a pain. Almost makes you want to go out and pick up a copy of NT.
Hope this helps.
