3DS Networking Question

My 3DS machine is a Pentium (64MB) running Workgroup Add-On for MS-DOS. It is connected to a WFWG 3.11 Server. I have access to shared drives on the server until I start 3DS. When running 3DS, the shared drives appear, but when selected, refuse to connect (no error msg). I suspect a memory management problem due to using EMM386.sys incorrectly? I have tried everything I can think of and my dealer has been of no help. Does anyone have a similar configuration? If so, I would be much indebted if you could send me a copy of your configuration files via private mail. Thanks a ton!! Pat McMahon

Patrick, i had a similar problem that might be the same thing troubling you.Have you checked to see if your net cards are conflicting with anything.Your network manuals should explain how to configure them. You may have an IRQ conflict. mike

Thanks for the reply. I have been using the network in Wfw mode for awhile now w/o problem. It is only when I boot up to use the Wfw DOS Add-on product (to do net rendering) that I have a problem. The shared drive is available to my system until I run 3DS4. Once in 3DS I'm unable to access the drives contents. I have been in touch w/ Microsoft Tech Support and we discovered that I am short 3KB of conventional memory when booting up. They suspect a virus, but I have been unable to detect anything. Still looking for solutions.
