You resolved a problem for T-Spect Le regarding the Stealth 64 VRAM card and
3DS. Is there a problem using this combination, is so, what is it?
I have recently purchased a system with this card in it and I'm having problems
configuring it. Could you please advise?

I'd be happy to help but my info was for the Stealth DRAM not VRAM.
I don't think Adesk would be too pleased if we kept filling this area with
video card messages although I suspect the last little burst brought Diamond
back online… Utterly red faced If there's any justice !

I sincerely hope this is not the case since this is the Hardware OS and Video
section and all these conversations are in relation to running 3ds better. I
save a lot of this stuff in case I might get a particular piece of equipment
mentioned. So I hope we will all feel free to help each other out on these
issues. My impression is that ADesk gets irratated when the conversations are
totally off the subject of what enables the optimum use of AD products such as
extensive Lightwave talk.

I'm not sure how anyone got the impression that talking about video cards
would upset anyone. You are correct, the hardware/operating system/video
section of this forum is for any topic pertaining to optimizing one's
environment for running 3DS, AAS, etc. One can often get quicker and better
tech support for peripherals and other devices here than directly from the
manufacturers. If the topic is less than remotely related then Take 5/General
is more suited. There we've had great discussions on electric guitars, Ayn
Rand, music and movies.

Ok sorry my mistake… The amount of flaming going on elsewhere
makes for caution…
To add a little to the diamond debate then I visited a local company
Friday to discover he had a Diamond 64VRAM card… And couldn't get the
Vesa mode to run at all. Which was a shame because I'd converted my
flics to self running .EXE's to make life easier and the self runner only
works in vesa mode.
My own problems with OS2 and the stealth 64 DRAM look like vesa problems as
IBM's vesa reporting program can't see the truecolour modes at all..
AND… the shareware program Graphics Workstation can't run in 1024×768 in vesa
mode or see the truecolour modes when running under plain old MS-DOS.
I wonder if they have a bad specification for the VESA standard and are
incorrectly implementing it on all their cards? I did suggest this some time
ago but they ignored me.
Any thoughts on this welcome.

Could you do me a favor and answer the querry about creating self-running
exe files from .flc's? The message number is #193393 from a visitor

Do you mean Graphic Workshop? I'm a sucker for the Windows version which
behaves as one would suspect in all of the video modes I have tested. I
realize it may be slower than the DOS version but I'm more productive with the
easy interface.
