I am having trouble running 3dstudio under Windows95. I have been told that it
is possible. Can anyone give me some advice? I am getting Pharlap memory
errors. Is there something I have to configure? Cfigphar? Help!
Hi Brent,
Have you read the section in the Installation Guide titled "Setting Up
3dstudio Under Windows 3.1?" If you follow those directions, you may be able
to run 3dstudio under Win 95. If you have followed these directions, then I
would like to know more about your problem.

No I havent read that part, but I'll give it a try. Has anyone been succesful
doing this yet? Thanks for the message
People have been successful with using 3d Studio with Windows 95, but there
have been reported failures too. I'm not really sure what the ratio is because
you really only hear about the failures. All the time I've heard it didn't
work involved the video drivers not finding the display hardware. Windows 95
may interfere with some forms of hardware detection.

Brent,
I stumbled across this process for using 3D Studio and 95 on
the same machine. It is the only way
that works for me, ( that isn't to say there are not other /better
ways) we have used this process on all of our machines with no
problems so far.
1- Open the DOS Prompt from inside Programs.
2- Go to your 3DS4 directory and start 3D Studio, or use your
3DS bat file for 3DS if you use one.
3- You will then get a message in the DOS window about Pharlap
incompatibility, Chose " YES " in the POPUP
window.
4- Chose the folder you would like the 3DS shortcut to be
placed in, or make a new folder. I stuck mine in the
Animator Studio folder.
5- Selct a name for the shortcut, and an icon in the next
window.
6- I used the "Standard DOS Settings" in the next window.
Select "Finsh"
7- I draged the resulting folder to the START button which
allows us to click START then 3DS4.
Hope this helps. By the way, Animator Studio runs pretty good
in 95 and ANI PRO runs faster through 95 then I've ever seen it
run. I "installed" ANI PRO the same way as 3DS.
Have Fun!
Randy
THANK YOU iLL GIVE THIS A TRY. Can I write you with other problems?
Brent,
You bet.
Randy
Randy, Im sorry, but I thought I saved that setup procedure you sent me for 3d
Studio? I clicked on file it and thought that it was saved. Could you please
resend it? I would appreciate it. I still havent gotten it to work yet. Thanks,
Brent
You can just set you high message pointer back to get the original message.
