Hi I've got some Questions about 3Ds. 1. Does 3DS work together wit Win Nt ? If it does , does it work well ore are there any problems. 2. I think 3ds is an 32 bit app. ( I'am not sure). I would like to know, if 3Ds is able to work multithreaded, because i am thinking to by a multiprocessorboard, and if 3Ds works well with a multiprocessor board, it would be intreristing for me too, by using Nt. maybe someone of you can help me. Tom from Hamburg. 😎

Tom, The current version (R4) of 3DS doesn't run under NT. The next version MAX will be a completely re-architected NT application. It will support multi-threading and multi-processor. Hope that anwers your question. DM

Hi Tom, 3DS does not work well with NT, and may not work at all depending on the video card. Download 3DS4-NT.ZIP from the hardware/opsys library (section 6). It won't work unless your video card supports VESA in ROM, and it may lock up your NT box if you try it. Autodesk 3D Studio MAX will work multithreaded under NT, 3DS R4 will not. -Grant Blaha [ADESK]
