Does anyone know when the Matrox Millenium drivers will be done? VESA is working fine (and actually pretty snappy), but I'm looking forward to Vibrant's high octane drivers. 🙂 JNJ

Jonas, >We're targeting a new post of the vibrant drivers by this weekend. < Sounds great. I thought it'd be coming up pretty soon. I'll keep an eye out for them. BTW- I have the transparency thing worked out. I changed the gamma to 1.0, but that messed up all the other images and I didn't want to go back and change all their gamma, so I just used black where it was showing thru. It's still transparent, but I can't see it. (except when I render superblack) I'll play with more it later when I have time. Thanks. JNJ

Hi, Jonas. Just downloaded the new vibrant drivers and I am having terrible trouble with the millenium drivers. At my working resolutions (1180×800,1280×1024), 3DS hangs on entry to the 3D editor, and the render display hangs at 640x480x16M when you give it high-luminance images to display(!!!??). I'm running on a stock Gateway P5/133XL with 32M RAM. Any clues? Do you know if anybody is successfully using the drivers at those resolutions? Thanks for any help, John.

John, I'm having similar problems. I just upgraded my motherboard to an AMI Apollo Pentium-133 w/32 meg and haven't been able to get 3DS to work yet. I'm not sure if it's related to Win95 or the new Vibrant Driver in my case. It just locks up a few seconds after starting up in the 3D Editor. I have the Millenium 4 meg board. Are you running Windows 95? Larry

Depending on what res I try, I get the same thing as you – it either hangs immediately or allows you to swing the mouse around for a second and then dies. I spoke to my 3DS tech support guy at Digimation and he says that he's getting a lot of problem calls regarding the matrox boards – he suggests I dump it!! Said when he ordered his P5 from Gateway that he had them switch the Millenium for an STB. I emailed the guy at Vibrant who announced the driver posting last week – I'll let you know what he says. John.

John, Let me know if you have any luck. I'd prefer to hang on to the Millenium if the driver problems (assuming thats what it is) can be resolved. Larry
