#mouse speed!
7 messages in this thread
I have my mouse speed set at 4 in my 3ds.set file, and since installing Win95,
every time I start 3DS, the mouse always defaults back to 1 – which is too
fast!
The 3ds.set file still has the setting: MOUSE-SPEED = 4
If you know what could be the problem, please let me know.
Ben
Hi Benjamin,
<<.. every time I start 3DS, the mouse always defaults back to 1 – which is too

Check to see if you have a 3ds.prj file. This prj file, if it exists will
always get loaded upon startup and may override some of your settings. You can
delete this file or modify your mouse settings and resave the 3ds.prj.

(that's not it!)…
I have 'MOUSE-SPEED = 3' set in my 3ds.prj file – and no matter what I set that
to, whenever I start 3DS, it resets itself back to 1. I start 3DS from inside
my 3DS directory, with the 3ds.exe file.
Thanks for your time,
Ben
Ben:
Mouse speed is set in the 3DS.SET file.

Bob,
I know – I have mine set to 3 or 4, and now (since installing Win95), every
time I start 3DS, the speed is reset to 1 for some unknown reason, so I have to
manually reset it. I have set and reset it in my 3ds.set file, used a brand
new 3ds.set file, and it still always uses 1. I was hoping someone might know
technically why this is and how to fix.
thanks

Betcha what's happening is your Win mouse settings are getting invoked instead
of your DOS mouse settings. Don't know how the fix was done (somebody else
actually solved it) but a coworker had the same problem not long ago (under
WfWG and DOS) and I thought this might provide a clue to your solution.
