I called Autodesk today to check on the shipping status of the Animator Studio update and the individual I spoke with said it was not shipping for several weeks. I was under the impression from this forum that is was shipping now, and automatically to registered users. I need the update soonest as I cannot run the program at all under Win 95 (Flipper error) and hate the concept of putting Win 3.1 back on my computer to allow dual booting. Since I have an ongoing project I need to get back to work on I will do that if there is no alternative. Is there a work around for the Flipper error? Did I ask the customer service rep the wrong question – I didn't know what the new version number was? Thank you for your help, –Karen

To appease flipper, create a swap file as large as possible "after cleaning up your hard drive". By large I mean 4 times RAM if you have the space. AAS wants as much RAM, Swap and hard drive space you can afford. Woops, let me reiterate, it seems any more than 32 meg of RAM doesn't do a lot more than help increase your swap file size. Will

Regarding Fliper error, in AS, are you saying creating a large win 95 swap file elimates the flipper error. also how do you go about creating a swap file for AS in WIn 95 thx CC

Sorry, my mistake I didn't notice you were running Win 95. Was that in your message? I haven't been running in Win 95 as I am going straight to NT when that version of AniStudio comes out. Will

Did I ask the customer service rep the wrong question – I didn't know what the new version number was? << there is an update for the Win3.x version which cures most of the flipper errors we have seen. this update is currently available. the Win95 version will be out soon and i highly recommend if you haven't done so already to get your AAS registration information in to Adesk so that you receive the Win95 version asap. it seems very stabel so far too. -dave

Karen, I called Adesk today and asked the same question and got the same answer. I told them of the posts here and they went off to check it out. After some persistance on the phone I got somebody to agree to ship the upgrade ASAP. They say it should be in dealers hands by the end of the week at the latest. Call them back and be persistant, it worked for me. I was in on the Win 95 betat testing so AStudio has essentially not worked since I got it…. Cheers, Tom
