#Looking4 unwanted laptop

I'm looking for a laptop computer (not to run 3DS), but it doesn't need to be
the newest P133 on the market. I'm looking for around a 486/25 or 33 with 8
megs ram 340 hd +/-, and would like to find a used one for around 1k. Is this
possible? It seems like all of the new ones in the magazines are still all
around 3k to 5K! What happens to all of the ones that get upgraded?

I wish I knew also what happened to all the upgraded laptops <G> I lust after a
colored monitor for my laptop. I have a Canon Notejet 486 which was originally
a SL but I got the chip to go DX with it. It only has 4meg of ram and a 250 meg
hard drive with floppy slot and two PCMCIA slots for modem, etc. BUT – it has
the coolest built in printer under the keyboard! Very sturdy machine and I use
it a lot but color makes such a difference. Guess I'll be waiting like you for
the prices to come down a bit more.

PMFJI, but I've always thought that Canon was neat. I expect that in the not
too distant future you'll see Canon offer a Pentium version, with a beautiful
color display, CD ROM bay, and…. a color bubblejet printer built in just like
the B/W one. It'd be a neat toy… but after having three/four laptops that
eventually didn't keep up <BG>, I've kinda given up since you can't really
upgrade them like a desktop. But if I had money to burn <G>, hmmmm?
