#ANIM-5 for SM-DOS?
8 messages in this thread
HELP!!!
Is anyone aware of a movieplayer for (forgive me) the SM-DOS that supports
the ANIM-5 format.
If there isn't one is there a utility that will convert that format to one
SM-DOS players will support.
Any advice will be appreciated.

You could save your sequence of pictures then take it to a dos machine and use
DTA, which you can download out of GRAPHDEV, and it will create you an FLI or
FLC depending on your resolution, and there's lots of players fot that format
you even can download one for windows (AAPLAY).

Edgar,
Thanks for the response.
I don't think I can do that. I don't have the original images. All I
have are the complted animations. They are compiled for the
'Movieplayer' program.
Any other suggestions?
Greg
Well, you could look for a utility that will decompose your anim back
into pics, I used to have one but I don't know what happen to it, all
I remember is that it was written by the same guy that wrote "View",
or you could get a hold of somebody that owns autodesk animator, it
comes with an animation converter that reads various animation
formats including ANIM. How big are your files?, what resolution?,
how many colors? Edgar.
Is that Gold Disk's MOVIEPLAYER? If that is the case then you might have a
bigger problem in your hands to change this to a more portable format.

No hope there then. Movieplayer animations aren't ANIM-5 animations.
They come from a program called MovieSetter by Golddisk I believe. I
think you want to convert Eric Schwartz anims?
Honestly I do just to show a friend what has already been done on the
Amiga befor it was even a glowing ember in their world. They don't
believe and I can't haul my machine around.
If Eric hears about this I hope he doesn't get mad….it was just for
demo. As it is, it doesn't even look like I can convert one anyhow.
Looks like I'll have to buy a VCR for when Eric releases his Amy video and
show them that.
They still won't believe I bet!! <G>

Nah, just leave them. It's their loss if they want to be ignorant about
computers. I happily use PC's, Macs and Amigas and see flaws and good
points in all of them.
The remark "but an Amiga is just a game machine right?" doesn't even
bother me anymore.
