#AVI?
4 messages in this thread
I'm no 'multimedia' (gag) professional, I've been reading a thread
about uploaded AVI videos in another forum. Although I have no idea
what the AVI format is, they're talking about slowing things down on
a MAC or PC to 10 frames per second so it's useable. That sounds a
bit lame to me. Any comments?
On the higher end Macs & PeeCees you can get more than 10fps (up to
30) but most machines can only go as high as 15fps. (160×120 to
320×240) It's lame compared to the Amiga but Macs & PCs don't always
have video coprocessors and have a higher overhead for the OS. Also,
if the final video is on CD there are the limitations of the CD
data-rate.
Andrew,
I, obviously, realize the coprocessors help the Amiga out. I just
didn't have the numbers. Thanks.

Robb,
I don't remember exactly what I said but I hope I didn't insult you. I'd
be interested if you do get the numbers.
