A recent item on a Toronto BBS:

Wonder Computers have announced that they are organizing the 1995 World of
Amiga show to be held Dec 8, 9 and 10 at the International Center in
Mississauga, Ontario. [Mississauga is a suburb of Toronto, Ontario, Canada;
it's in the Toronto airport area — Jim]
They expect that ESCOM will be there along with third party suppliers,
developers, distributors, retailers and user groups.
Wonder are getting guidance on putting on the show from Karen Jewell who was
responsible for the earlier World of Commodore Amiga shows that Commodore
Canada sponsored.
Two seminar rooms will be active for the duration of the show with sseveral
Commodore/ex-Commodore personalities including Dave Haynie.

I live only 30 miles from Canada, however on the West coast we tend to get
ignored by these shows… has there ever been an Amiga show within 1000 miles
of Seattle or Vancouver BC? I guess MacroSoft scares them all away.

I couldn't even begin to guess. The only shows I ever made were in NYC.

PMFJIL, but AmiJamm was in Calgary, Alberta in August which is only about 500
mi. – as the crow flies. It was very well publicized here – NewTek was even
there!!.

There was one in Calgary, Alberta, last August.
Depending on how far back "ever" goes, there have been quite a few Amiga
shows in Vancouver, sponsored by Commodore. But not in the last couple of
years, for reasons which may be obvious.
(Is Larry Philips still looking in here? LARRY? WHAT'S GOING ON IN THE
VANCOUVER AREA?)

The only "west coast" show (WOA) I know of in recent years was the last WOA
in Pasedena in '92. There used to be Ami-Expos in San Francisco and Oakland,
but I don't remember anything any further north than that. I'm hoping they'll
be a WOA in California sometime soon, but haven't heard a peep indicating
anyone is even thinking about it.

I'd love to go, but that's my anniversary (the 2nd) and, since it's a 20
year anniversary, I really think I ought to be here for it…:)
If I lived closer (it's at least a 10 hour drive from here) it would be a
different situation…:)

Actually, that means 'birthday'. Anninversary is 'Jahrestag' or
'Jahresfeier'.
