Chris, Does the European VHS PAL video tapes fit into a American VCR? I think there is a hardware difference. Jurgen

>>>Chris, Does the European VHS PAL video tapes fit into a American VCR? I think there is a hardware difference. Jurgen<<< The Tapes are the same, other than the European tape holding a bit more tape, as PAL runs a bit faster. I bought many tapes in Germany for use in my American VCR. I liked having that bit of extra tape. Roy Nash 70662,747 A500 Flyng High on AutoPilot

Jurgen, There is no physical difference between VHS PAL and NTSC except tape length. Regards, Gary

Euro VHS tapes fit mechanically into US VHS machines but the PAL scan rates make pre-recorded stuff useless. In fact I accidentally bought a PAL pre-recorded tape of Yosemite Nat Park and all I got was garbage. 8^) Bob Nolo Press Tech Support

<<Does the European VHS PAL video tapes fit into a American VCR? I think there is a hardware difference.>> Not a normal VCR, no. What I have is a VCR that will change speed and format for PAL, NTSC, SECAM, and a list of others. It'll work. I have some music videos from Germany that play great on it. Waiting till Motorola decides to release that 68060. Chris Shepard: 030/50 A2000 with Toaster 4000 & MacIIfx via Emplant.
