I've finally managed to download Autopilot following receipt of a new updated
version of my communications software, "Termite". Your advice and that of
several others was much appreciated, but I gave up unable to solve the problem.
I don't know what difference the new version makes, for all of the settings are
identical, but finally I've succeeded.
Now I'm at the point that should be no mystery, but it is to me still. What do
I do to install it? I was told before first to download the "lha" utility,
which I did, copy it into my c: directory, which I did and then type "lha" into
my shell, which I did and now I am totally lost.
Where do I go from here?

"Download- I'm totally lost" If you've downloaded AP with termite it should be
in you Termite Download drawer (select all files). 1 Drag it to Ram 2 Open a
shell 3 type- MAKEDIR RAM:AP (carriage return)
CD RAM:AP "
lha X RAM:AP.LHA "
You should now see the file dearchive. If this has worked, a new drawer should
have been created in RAM with the demo version of AutoPilot in it.
4 Drag it across to the desired partition of your Hard Disk.
OK Let me know if you have any problems with this, I'll gladly help as I
recently suffered the same problems- AP is worth waiting for!

Copy AP.LHA to RAM:
CD to RAM:
type LHA x AP.LHA
Then, get to the workbench and click on RAM: disk icon.
Click on the Installer icon in the RAM: disk window.
This will install AP for you.
Then, put your ID number, password, and local phone number in the blanks in
SETUP, and you'll be ready to sign on. Um…I believe you also have to set the
baud rate in SetUP.
I hope that you'll be telling us tomorrow that all is going well. You're
nearly there, now.

Ok…you've got AP.LHA, and you've got LHA. Copy AP.LHA to ram: and go
there. Once you're there, type:
lha x AP.LHA
from the shell. LHA will unpack it. You will find, in the archive, an
installer. Double click on that and you are on your way. Don't hesitate to
ask if you run into any more problems!
