HELP! I am still looking for a way to contact ICD or confirm that they are out of business. I have removed the ICD AdIDE controller from my wife's A500 and have the 2.04 chip installed and working. If anyone knows why the AdIDE might be conflicting with the 2.04 ROM please let me know. I hate to spend any more money on this system to buy another controller since I am trying to save for a A4000T/060 next year. I just want to get 2.04w/2.1 installed and working with the 2.5 inch IDE HD I have inside the A500. Any suggestions? David (75714,2776)

Well, I have an AdIDE on my A2000HD, but the kind that I have are for the regular 3.5 inch IDE HDs. I also have the 2.04 ROM, but I don't use the IDE HD as the main booting HD (I use the SCSI HD and the A2091 card that the computer came with). Based on what I have, there are jumpers on the AdIDE board that says 1.2 and 1.3. I have both of them open (no contact) and it seems to work fine with me. Danny

What exactly has happened? I have the same set-up with no problem. I started off with 1.3 and upgraded a couple of years ago to 2.04 etc and everything went flawlessly. The only giltch I had was when I first got the HD the computer wouldn't recognize it. Turned out to be a problem with the cable. The number I have for ICD Power Peripherals is 815-968-2228 if that helps at all. Its a few years old. George Morrison Dazed and Confused on the A500 🙁

George, Thanks for the phone number. >>What exactly has happened? I have the same set-up with no problem. I started off with 1.3 and upgraded a couple of years ago to 2.04 etc and everything went flawlessly.<< I have the ICD AdIDE installed working fine with 1.3 and a M-Tec 2mb RAM expansion board. When I replace the 1.3 ROM with the 2.04 ROM the A500 will not boot from the hard drive or from a floppy. To check the 2.04 ROM I disconnected the AdIDE and booted from a 2.1 workbench disk. It worked fine, I then reconnected the AdIDE and had the same problems. I changed the jumper from 1.3 to 1.2 and the A500 booted from floppy but the O.S. does not see the hard drive. I have torn the house apart looking for the ICD disk and manual that came with the AdIDE, no can find. 2.1 HDtool box is no help either. I previously posted the error codes from the guru screen but have not seen a reply yet as to what they indicate. I'll try to call ICD today, thanks again for the number.
