#Using Mountlists
4 messages in this thread
I've been following the thread about mountlists for the Zip drives, so that
the Amiga/CrossDOS can read the IBM formatted disks. I have 3 mountlists for
it now. Since I've never had to do a mountlist before, how do I go about using
them on a 3000 3.1 OS Amiga?

Put it in your devs: drawer, and access it through a MOUNT statement in
User-Startup. Something like Mount xxxx (drive name) from devs:mountlist.xxxx
(whatever designation identifies this mountlist)
You'll have to re-boot for this to take effect.

Betty, I was just looking at my devs: drawer. There is a DosDrivers drawer
in it that has all the drivers/mountlists for things like my CDROM and PC0:,
CrossDos floppy driver. If I attach the mountlist file to a project Icon and
put it in there, would it automatically recognize on boot up? It looks like
that's the way it's done for the other drivers in that drawer now. Still a
little confused here…

On my system, everything connected with CrossDOS is in the DosDrivers drawer,
but I have other mountlists that are just in DEVS: but not in a directory
inside. My inclination would be to put it in Devs: and see if it worked – and
move it if not.
