Just three wires on the serial IBM mice? that could explain the cheap
$10.00 price tag on the item at the computer store (Fry's Electronics,
Manhattan Beach, Californial).

Yeah, I suppose they could save enough on the cable to make up for the
added complexity in the mouse.:) It's more due to the fact that there are
more clones with spare serial ports than bus ports.
