Rendering time seems to be the biggest downfall for the VLAB-M system. Can you
preview a rough idea of what the transition looks like? Can you not set up all
your transistions and let them all render throughout the night or when you away
from the computer.

No. You can only render some single frames to control if the timeline is
arranged in the right manner.

Yes, no problem. And if you want to make some more complicated effects like
four PIP's with border and shadow zooming and rotating in front of a fifth
scene with a length of 20seconds You will _NEED_ the night.
