Does anyone know if it is possible to run 3DS on a 386SX or DX processor and if it is possible to run it on a 486SX, if so How? Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanx, 🙂 Devin (:

Devin, Yes, you can run 3D Studio with any of those processors, as long as you ALSO have the requisite math coprocessor (for a 80386 cpu, you need the 80387 chip of the same speed). For the SX systems, you need the SX version of the math coprocessor. Kevin Krell – Computer Support Associates

3ds ver.1 was designed to run on 386 machines, but it only worked if you had a matc-coprocessor. CASEY

Devin; It is possible, but you either need a math co-processor or an emulation software TSR that tricks 3DS into thinking that a math co-processor exists. The emulation software actually acts like the math co. But it is BRUTALLY slow. If you are interested in the math co software there is a company called Quickware that makes a very good one. There number is 512/280-1452 or at least it was about a year and a half ago. Good Luck. Zac (AZ-TECH) Berkeley -Zac Rymland (AZ-TECH)

There is also a file called Q87.zip in tha Autocad forum utility library that emulates a co-processor. Bob Kohl Cedille inc. -Bob Kohl

>>There is also a file called Q87.zip in tha Autocad forum utility library that emulates a co-processor.<< This is the same utility, but is a demo version, it works for about 20 minutes then stops, good enough to figure out if you like it. Zac (AZ-TECH) Berkeley -Zac Rymland (AZ-TECH)
