#Stelth 64 N.F.G!
7 messages in this thread
I recently got a Diamond Stelth 64 PCI and found out that the Vibrant in-line
driver cannot support the 24-bit mode. Neither Vibrant nor Autodesk has been
very helpful solving this problem. If you have the same card and made it work
in 24-bit mode please share with me your situation. If not, I'm willing to buy
another PCI card all together. What is the most stable PCI card that supports
24-bit color with Vibrant drivers? Thanks,
-Reza
Reza:
Which version of the Vibrant drivers are you using? FWIW, the Viper works
fine in 24bit mode.

Bob: I'm using the latest Vibrant drivers available in this forum. I think it
is 1.0.7.p1 and it still doesn't work. The problem is Vibrant doesn't
want to talk to 3DS users directly to help solve this problem and Autodesk
says, oh we don't know anything about it.
If you have had luck with Viper can you please give me the exact model so I
know what to get. Thank you,
-Reza
Hi Reza,
<< I'm using the latest Vibrant drivers available in this forum. I think it is

the latest available drivers on this forum is 1.0.8c3.

Blink and there are new drivers from Vibrant. Jonas has the skinny. The
Stealth has several incarnations and from lack of posted problems here
recently, I was under the impression that 3DS and the Stealth finally got along
ok. Give the new drivers a shot. FWIW the Viper PCI 2mb is what I've got, no
worries.

Reza,
FWIW, I've had no trouble at all with my ATI Graphics ProTurbo VESA, and once
ATI got their PCI drivers sorted out (about 4 months ago), the PCI version was
fine too.

Just a general note I finally squeezed (And I mean squeezed) out of
Diamond…
All video cards with 2MB ram and S3 chips are not capable of Truecolour
under OS/2. You must have 4MB on the card…
