I've heard of the DPS recorder but dont know much about it. Does it actually
record on video tape or do you still kneed a computer to look at the results?
Perhaps an Mpeg card is a better solution?

The DPS runs your animation at incredibly high quality off of a seperate
harddrive. You still need the computer to see it, but nothing stops you from
hooking up a seperate card that captures what appears on the screen and sends
it to your VCR. The Mpeg card is a great low price, and it's only purpose is to
take your animation and send it to video. It doesn't play on your computer
screen (unless you also render your animation to a flic). It works for me, but
depending on your budget and who will see the project, you might want to go to
the DPS. Some people use the MARS as sort of a dry run, a test to see how well
the animation looks on screen, then renders the animation at a much higher
quality to some other form of transferal device. The Mpeg board is still
definately worth checking out.
