I'm just now getting this far down in my back messages and have read 58 messages in the thread on Virtuosity. One comment struck me: you did the holographic head with a box of Crayolas? I'd like more info on this: was it the CGA box (16 crayons) or the bigger EGA box (64 crayons) with the built-in sharpening hardware? <g,d,rlh> — Joel Rea

Joel (aka M&M's) >> you did the holographic head with a box of Crayolas? I'd like more info on this: was it the CGA box (16 crayons) or the bigger EGA box (64 crayons) <g,d,rlh> << ha ha! Yes, it was actually the former CGA box, selected from a pallette of 16.7million – all shades of green. Thanks for asking <g>. Martin

Thanks, guys. Actually, I can't take credit for that joke. It was from an ad in computer magazines LONG ago in the days when EGA was new (I think that was in the Precambrian period…). The ad showed a box of 16 Crayolas spilled open with several of the crayons broken and all significantly worn, and a shiny new box of 64 Crayolas (with sharpener in the box) with the top flipped open to show that all the crayons are brand spanking new. The slogan: "Remember the FIRST time you upgraded your graphics hardware?" — Joel Rea.
