Usenet access via Amitcp

Ok folks, I hope someone knows the answers to my questions. I have subscribed
to several Usenet news groups here on CIS. I do not like using the CIS software
to read online. I have AmiTCP setup thru CIS to use for the WWW and want to
also access the news groups the same way. Question- What do i need to do this
and how do i set it all up?
I have looked at TIN but have no idea how to use/set it up. What i really need
is something to use with AmiTCP that will access the Usenet and let me browse
thru the groups and download what i want. I HATE CIS's way of doing it. Every
time i try to download an article, CIS screws up and times out. It's not very
friendly!
Any help or advice will be greatly appreiciated.

Try Thor. it's easy to setup and has loads of options and many ARexx-scripts
are available for it to make life easy.
You can get it from the comm/mail-directory on Aminet. Maybe it's in the libs
here too, not sure. You need Thor_Main and Thor_inet. Don't try to configure it
for your EMail too, because CIS doesn't support POP.

May I suggest Thor. Works alot like AP but in an internet kinda way. Written
by a bunch of dedicated Amigans in Norway. The devolopers are to a point where
it is about as full featured as the good PC stuff. Stop by
http://www.cs.uit.no/~kjelli/thor and ftp the 3 files necessary for setup.
The Thor kinda stands for ultima THule Offline Reader.
Give me a yell if you have any trouble setting it up. It's pretty
straightforward but everyone hits a bump every now and again.
