Folks, I am doing a animation that need two LenzFX entries in Video Post. The first is a simple flare that is continuously on for aircraft landing lights. The second is a flare, same lighting conditions, except size 500, and on once every 60th and 70th frame then turned off to act as a strobe light. There are three of these strobe lights. I tried to enable the strobe lights two ways. The first is to create a dummy and assign the three strobe lights to it. Then hide and unhide the dummy as required. No such luck. The lights would either come on and stay on or not come on at all. The second was to create a size envelope in LenzFX, zero to 500, zero for most of the animation, and 500 every 60th and 70th frame. Again, nada. Now the envelope affects the first LenzFX entry also, not turning on the simple flare at all. Gag! Ideas? Should I use a separate LensFX entry for each light? How about hiding and unhiding each light separately (a real pain at 9 entries total)? Bug in LenxFX 1.0? Bug in 3DS R4? Forget it and go get a real job at McDonalds? Thanks y'all! Mark

Mark, Have you tried keying the flare off luminance, and keying on the color channels of the lights themselves? Since it sounds like a regular cycle, you could even loop each light's keys, so you'd only have to do it once. SCL

Have you read the section of the manual on Lenz Stack? It's required for multiple entries. — James — Choreo Motion —
