1. Choose Build Index.
2. When the Filename Dialog pops up, immediatly press OK — Don't change
anything!
3. A message box stating "Can't create index file" will pop up with a single
"Continue" button. Press it.
4. A third message box asking "Would you like to crate a non-resident index
file for this directory?" pops up.
5. Press the OK button.
6. When it's done indexing, press the Do Search button to see the thumbnails.

But does not that non-resident index file go away when you exit Browser?

The non-resident index remains on the hard disk and is still accessible,
so there is no need to re-index the CD (since it isn't going to change).
