<<<Just curious, but is 3D Studio Pentium optimized?>>> No 3D Studio is not optimized for a Pentium. 3D MAX is and wont be released tell the Autodesk's first quarter next year. 3D Studio version 4 has been optimized for a 486 and version 3,2,1 for a 386. One advantage if your running a computer with a ZIFF socket you can get the Pentium Overdrive chip and it will make a great speed increase in 3D Studio release 4. Your running a Pentium speed and since your still running a 486 board 3D studio will preform allot faster. Hope this helped ? Mike White [SDP]

Mike, PMJI but I keep seeing messages referring to 3D MAX. Any info on what this is, what it will cost, and whether or not there is an upgrade path from 3DS? Thanks, Greg LeVasseur

Hi Gregory, <<..MAX?..>> Here's some info from a previous thread: >>>The library files you are looking for are 3DSMAX1.GIF, 3DSMAX2.GIF and BIPED.GIF. The 3DSMAX.ZIP (also in Library 3) include 3DSMAX.DOC, 3DSNEWS.DOC BIPED.DOC and README.TXT most of which is in the forum messages mentioned in the first paragraph.<<< Ship date for MAX has been announced as "this winter".
